Park Notice

Provoking Falls Bridge Closure:
The Provoking Falls bridge on the Highland Backpacking Trail is CLOSED due to safety concerns. The bridge is closed indefinitely.
A re-route has been posted and provided, it will add an additional 2.6 km.

Park Notice

November Backcountry Protocol
The backcountry, both paddling and backpacking, will be open for camping in November, weather permitting. To make a backcountry reservation for a trip in November please contact the park directly a week before your trip departure date, at 613-637-2780 ext. 229, between 9:00am – 3:45pm. You cannot make November backcountry reservations online or by calling the reservation service.

Access Points
For the following Access Point Roads we recommend Four Wheel Drive (4WD):
- Aylen Lake Access Point

Achray Campground
The gate located one kilometre from the campground is locked on October 26 until the fourth Friday of April. Anyone hoping to access the campground or access the backcountry from the campground, must park outside the gate and hike in the additional kilometre.

Minnesing Bike Trail: The first two loops of the Minnesing Bike Trail, Sugar Bush Run and Timber Slide Loop, are cleared and open for use. The third loop remains closed at this time and the fourth loop is permanently closed.

To access the Booth’s Rock Trail between September 13 and October 18, a special daily vehicle permit is required.

The Fork Lake Trail is a new 2.4 km trail at the Algonquin Visitor Centre. Please note: this trail offers short, steep climbs and is rated as difficult.

Low Water Alerts
Expect low water conditions:
- Tim River past Rosebary Lake
Tim River between the Queer Lake portage (P1330) and the Shah Lake portage.
- Rosebary Lake to the P1330 to Queer Lake
- David Creek off of Mubwayaka Lake
- Loontail Creek north of Rosebary Lake
- Creek from Pen Lake towards Welcome Lake
- The creek between Little McCraney Lake and McCraney Lake.
