and overcome the many challenges that each season brings. Evening Programs
are 1 hour in length. Outdoor Theatre (at km 35.4).

From surprising superpowers to magical
transformations, insects do it all. Get up-close and personal with some of
Algonquin's most abundant and dazzling wildlife "bugs". An insect-catching
session will follow. 30-minute program. Algonquin Visitor Centre (at km 43).

The Black Bear is common in Algonquin, but few visitors ever get to see one… and perhaps you never want to! Join Mushana to learn how bears survive in the wild and how bears and humans must co-exist. Evening Programs are 1 hour in length. Outdoor Theatre (at km 35.4).

All sorts of amazing creatures emerge from the darkness while we're asleep in our tents. Join Alexander and Genevieve to discover their amazing adaptations for night life, and hopefully see or hear some of them as well! No dogs allowed. Guided walks last about 1.5 hours. Being a baby animal is not easy; in fact, it's often the hardest stage of life. Come see how Algonquin's animal babies survive to adulthood. 30-minute program. Algonquin Visitor Centre (at km 43).

Join Genevieve and Amanda as they lead an adventure in search of the incredible insects of the unique and historic airfield site. Critter-catching session to follow! Nets will be provided. Guided walk lasts about 1.5 hours. Old Railway Bike Trail Parking Lot at Mew Lake Campground (at km 30.6).

Join Kevin as he introduces you to the square timber era of Algonquin's logging history. Everything from life in the camboose shanty to the thrill of the spring river drive. Guided walks last about 1.5 hours. Algonquin Logging Museum Entrance Building (at km 54.5).

Turtles are instantly recognizable and much-admired creatures of wetlands, near and far.
Algonquin Park is home to over 50 years of research on turtle biology and conservation. Join biologist Patrick Moldowan as he shares fascinating stories and helpful ways in which we can help these iconic
and at-risk species. Talk is 1hr in length. Outdoor Theatre (at km 35.4).

Join members of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada (Toronto Centre) for a night of stargazing, on the Mew Lake beach (near sites 67, 70). If you have binoculars or a telescope, please feel free to bring them along! You will have the opportunity to observe astronomical phenomena together such as Saturn, galaxies, star clusters, and nebulae. Please do not use flashlights or headlamps when joining the event as white light rapidly destroys night vision! Red light flashlights/headlamps are acceptable. This event is weather dependent and will not take place if there is rain or if the sky is very cloudy. This event takes place on the nights of August 28th, 29th, and 30th from 8:00pm - 10:00pm. Mew Lake Campground Beach (at km 30.6).
