Provoking Falls Bridge Closure:
The Provoking Falls bridge on the Highland Backpacking Trail is CLOSED due to safety concerns. The bridge is closed indefinitely.
A re-route has been posted and provided, it will add an additional 2.6 km.

Location: Raccoon Lake Campground, Rock Lake Campground - A boil water advisory is in effect. Please bring water to a rolling boil for at least 1 full minute before using for drinking, food preparation and infant formula, and brushing teeth.

Access Points

Minnesing Bike Trail: The first two loops of the Minnesing Bike Trail, Sugar Bush Run and Timber Slide Loop, are cleared and open for use. The third loop remains closed at this time and the fourth loop is permanently closed.

Fire Ban
This park is currently under a fire ban.
Park Notice
EFFECTIVE AUGUST 14, 2025 at 5:00PM: Algonquin Provincial Park has issued a TOTAL FIRE BAN that prohibits all open fires.
This fire ban applies to all land within Algonquin Provincial Park, including:
• All developed campgrounds;
• All interior/backcountry camping - canoe tripping and backpacking;
• All picnic and day-use areas;
• All trails;
• All cottages, private and commercial leases within Algonquin.
During a fire ban:
• Campfires are not permitted at any time;
• Charcoal or wood burning barbeques may not be used;
• Portable gas/propane/naphtha stoves or barbecues that have a fuel source with a control valve may still be used;
• Backcountry users must have a portable stove with a fuel shut-off valve. Biolite or other wood/charcoal burning stoves are not permitted.
Enforcement staff will be patrolling the park by boat, aircraft and vehicle to ensure compliance.
The fire ban will remain in place until further notice and will be lifted as soon as conditions allow.
