Park Notice

Backcountry camping will open as scheduled on Friday, May 1.

Hiking trails
- Hiking trails are not maintained this time of year. Expect spring conditions on our hiking trails. This could include snow, ice, slush, mud and flooding. Use at your own risk.
- Closed due to flooding: Whiskey Rapids

Access Points
The following Access Points remain inaccessible due to snow-covered roads and washouts:
- Magnetawan Lake Access Point
- Brent/Cedar Lake Access Point
- Rain Lake Access Point
- Tim River Access Point
- Grand Lake / Achray Access Point
- Lake Travers Access Point
- North River Access Point
- Wendigo Lake Access Point
- Brain Lake Access Point
- Kingscote Lake Access Point

The following Access Point Roads are not yet maintained, are in poor condition and require Four Wheel Drive (4WD). Use at your own risk and please drive with caution.
- Mallard / Sec Lakes Access Point
- McManus Lake Access Point
- Aylen Lake Access Point
- Shall Lake Access Point
- Hollow River – Dividing Lake Access Point

Park Notice

East Gate Office:
- Daily: 8:30am – 4:00pm

West Gate Office:
- Daily: 8:30am – 4:00pm

Visitor Centre:
- Monday – Friday: 9:00 am – 4:00pm
- Saturday – Sunday: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
- Friends of Algonquin Park Bookstore & Nature Shop, Algonquin Art Room, viewing deck, exhibits, and a dining area with coffee, cold drinks and snacks.

Mew Lake Campground Office:
- Sunday – Thursday: 9:30 am – 5:00 pm
- Friday – Saturday: 9:30 am – 6:00 pm

Shall Lake Access Point Office:
- Friday - Tuesday: 9:00am – 4:00pm
- Tuesday - Wednesday: Closed

Trailer Sanitation Stations
- Minnesing (km 23): Open
- Sunday Lake (km 35.6): Closed
- Rock Lake: Closed

Firewood
- Firewood is only available for purchase during office hours.
- Mew Lake Campground Office, East Gate, West Gate

Office Closures

-Opeongo Access Point:
For backcountry users beginning or ending their trip at Lake Opeongo (Access Point 11), please note that from the 2026 season onward the Opeongo Access Point Office will be closed. Visitors requiring information can visit the Opeongo Store, or for information and permits they can visit the East or West Gates, call the information line at: 705-633-5572, or utilize the complimentary Wi-Fi.

-Lake of Two Rivers Campground Office:
Please note that from the 2026 season onward the Lake of Two Rivers Campground Office will be closed. Visitors requiring information, permits, or firewood can visit the Mew Lake Campground Office, or call the information line at: 705-633-5572.

-Kawawaymog (Round) Lake Access Point
For backcountry users beginning or ending their trip at Kawawaymog Lake (Access Point 1), please note that from the 2026 season onward, the Kawawaymog Access Point Office will be closed. Visitors requiring information can call the Algonquin Information Line at: 705-633-5572, or utilize the complimentary Wi-Fi at the Kawawaymog Access Point.

Park Notice

Provoking Falls Bridge Closure:
- The Provoking Falls bridge on the Highland Backpacking Trail is CLOSED due to safety concerns. The bridge has been removed. A re-route has been posted and provided, it will add an additional 2.5 km.
