Park Notice

East Gate Office:

- Firewood is only available for purchase during office hours.

Park Notice

Hiking trails
- Expect spring conditions on our hiking trails.
- Closed: Whiskey Rapids Trail is closed due to flooding and trail erosion.

Access Points
Expect spring conditions on access point roads, please drive with caution.

Boil Water

Location: Pog Lake Campground - A boil water advisory is in effect. Please bring water to a rolling boil for at least 1 full minute before using for drinking, food preparation and infant formula, and brushing teeth.

Backcountry

The Highview Cabin will be closed for the 2026 season for repairs and maintenance.


Provoking Falls Bridge Closure: The Provoking Falls bridge on the Highland Backpacking Trail is CLOSED due to safety concerns. The bridge has been removed. A re-route has been posted and provided, it will add an additional 2.5 km.

Park Notice

The Barron Canyon Road will be closed at km 34 on Tuesday June 9th, from 6:00 am to 7:00 pm for a culvert replacement. The road will be impassable on June 9th, which will prevent users from accessing and leaving the Lake Travers, Grand Lake, and White Partridge Access Points, Achray Campground, and the Eastern Pines backpacking trail. The road will re-open to one lane on Wednesday June 10th. Access to the Barron Canyon Trail, Brigham Lake and Squirrel Rapids parking lots, and the McManus, Sec, and Mallard Access Points are unaffected.

Impacted reservation holders will receive a notification from Ontario Parks.

Office Closures

-Opeongo Access Point:
For backcountry users beginning or ending their trip at Lake Opeongo (Access Point 11), please note that from the 2026 season onward the Opeongo Access Point Office will be closed. Visitors requiring information can visit the Opeongo Store, or for information and permits they can visit the East or West Gates, call the information line at: 705-633-5572, or utilize the complimentary Wi-Fi.

-Lake of Two Rivers Campground Office:
Please note that from the 2026 season onward the Lake of Two Rivers Campground Office will be closed. Visitors requiring information, permits, or firewood can visit the Mew Lake Campground Office, or call the information line at: 705-633-5572.

-Kawawaymog (Round) Lake Access Point
For backcountry users beginning or ending their trip at Kawawaymog Lake (Access Point 1), please note that from the 2026 season onward, the Kawawaymog Access Point Office will be closed. Visitors requiring information can call the Algonquin Information Line at: 705-633-5572, or utilize the complimentary Wi-Fi at the Kawawaymog Access Point.
