Uxbridge Urban Provincial Park

Biking

Biking and mountain biking is permitted on all trails. Since these are multi-use trails, cyclists must yield to pedestrians and hikers. Cyclists are encouraged to respect and protect the often-sensitive environments that these trails pass through by riding only on the designated trail surface.

Birding

Birding is a popular activity at Uxbridge Urban. Many species of migratory birds can be seen in the park in the spring and fall. The best birding opportunities in the park are along the Yellow, Orange, and Blue Trails. There is a high diversity of birds using the parklands for breeding that sing beautiful songs in the spring and summer months.

Day Use

Uxbridge Urban is a day-use park, offering the perfect opportunity to leave the city behind and reconnect with nature. Please note that the park does not currently have toilet facilities. A portable toilet is on site at 565 Old Stouffville Road parking area, from May to October only.

Hiking

Yellow Trail 2.6 km, moderate

The Yellow Trail can be accessed from the parking lots at 565 Old Stouffville Road and 579 Old Stouffville Road. This trail has two distinct loops and captures the history of the property where the previous landowner installed interlocking brick to create one of the most unique trails in all of parks. The northern loop (1.4 km) strolls past other relics such as lamp posts. This trail has a moderate grade as it descends toward the wetland and then inclines back toward the west. The interlock brick continues on the southern loop (1.2 km) which has a steep incline on the hill as you walk within the mixed forest. Although the interlock brick provides easier accessibility, please be alert for rugged terrain on some parts of the trail.

Orange Trail 3.6 km, moderate

The Orange Trail can be accessed from the parking lots at 565 Old Stouffville Road and 579 Old Stouffville Road. This trail consists of both single and double tract widths and can provide a nice ride or hiking experience for users alike through both plantation and mixed forests. The middle section has a strenuous incline, so you may want to make use of the bench for a quick rest! The southern section is quite flat.

Blue Trail 3.7 km, moderate

The Blue Trail can be accessed from the parking lot at 565 Old Stouffville Road. The northern sections are a single tract with some moderate hills. The southern section where it intersects with the Orange Trail flattens out.

Green Trail 4.5 km, moderate

The Green Trail is a double track loop that passes the agricultural field along Old Stouffville Road across from the parking lot at 579 Old Stouffville Road. At the top of the agricultural field, you will find a bench overlooking the view that is especially nice when the fall colours are at its peak. This trail showcases the deciduous forest and offers the chance to observe large mammals and forest birds.

Purple Trail 2.1 km, moderate

The Purple Trail starts as a double track that can be accessed off Concession Road 7 at Reid Road. This trail turns into a single-track loop once it branches off northward from the main trail. This trail showcases the transition from a young deciduous forest to an old growth forest with moderate hills accompanied by a bench for a rest. There is currently no parking lot at this location.

Horseback Riding

Horseback riding is permitted on some trails which are locally marked. However, there are currently no parking facilities for truck and trailers. Planning for future development of facilities is underway.
