Wander into the past with an evening walk along the water.

You will meet the spirits of people that lived and worked here up to 400 years ago, from the time of the early explorers to the logging era.

There are many stories to be told of the hardship and toil, adventure and comical mishaps, and of awe-inspiring journeys.

Location: Bagwa. Stop by anytime between 6:30-7:30pm.

Paddle back in time in a replica Big Canoe to explore the history of the Canadian fur trade and its lasting impacts while creating lasting memories. This 3-hour tour includes a break at a hidden waterfall, giving you the chance to take photos, have a snack, or go for a swim!

There is a maximum of 10 participants per tour.

Samuel de Champlain Provincial Park is excited to have Marc Audet preforming Forgotten Memories of The Ottawa Valley, the evening of Saturday August 15th at the Mattawa River Visitor Centre.

Marc Audet is a folk music singer/songwriter from the Ottawa Valley, who's songwriting interests includes writing about the history and heritage of the Ottawa Valley. His shows blend great songwriting and storytelling, creating a captivating and immersive experience for listeners. His unassuming stage presence projects a serene and introspective setting, much like the territory that he sings about. There is an authenticity in his music that draws listeners in, connecting with truth in music.

Please join us on a historical music tour of the Ottawa Valley while enjoying the spectacular natural scenery of the park.
