Park Notice

As a result of the microburst in June 2025, many areas of Samuel de Champlain experienced significant damage, including trees, roadways and other critical infrastructure. For safety reasons, certain sections of the park have been closed in the interim (including some hiking trails, roads, campgrounds, etc.). Most notably, the entire west side of the park which includes Jingwakoki Campground will remain closed to the public at this time.

Restoration efforts throughout the entire park are ongoing and may cause noise and intermittent disruptions. Please respect all closures and maintain a safe distance from work crews to ensure everyone's safety. We appreciate everyone's understanding and patience during this period.

Please continue to check our Alerts page on our website for updates and notifications (i.e. boil water advisories, fire bans, etc.). http://www.ontarioparks.com/park/samueldechamplain/alerts
