Park Notice
Backcountry Reopening with Advisories:
As of October 2, 2026, all backcountry areas of Quetico Provincial Park are open with advisories in place.
We discourage travel in the burn area. A map of the burn area can be found at https://www.ontarioparks.ca/pdf/maps/quetico/backcountry-reopening-october-1.pdf. Impassible portage routes and overhead tree hazards are present throughout the area due to weakened root systems resulting from the intensity of the fires. Avoid camping under burned trees.
We continue to gather information on the severity of burned areas. We recommend using caution in all areas of the park. You may call the Quetico Information Line at 807-597-2735 for trip planning assistance.

Images inadvertently capturing suspected criminal, safety, or security violations, may be disclosed to the appropriate law enforcement agency. Any remaining records that contain the image of an identifiable individual will be deleted or altered to make the individuals unidentifiable.
