A safe, well-built campfire can be one of the highlights of a camping trip. Visit the gate house to learn the basics of building, lighting, maintaining, and properly extinguishing a campfire. Discovery staff will share practical tips that help keep fires enjoyable while protecting people, campsites, and the surrounding environment.

Helping kids learn how to find their way builds confidence, independence, and a sense of adventure. In this hands-on program, young explorers learn the four cardinal directions, practice using a compass, discover how landmarks can guide us, and explore park maps together. Along the way, we’ll share simple safety tips that help kids feel comfortable and confident while adventuring outdoors. Location: Day Use Beach.
