MacGregor Point Provincial Park

Car Camping

MacGregor Point offers well separated and private campsites in three campgrounds: Algonquin Campground, Nipissing Campground and Huron Campground. Sites are treed, generous and have a level surface. Each campsite is provided with a fire pit and one 8-foot picnic table. Several campsites are designed for use by persons with disabilities.

Radio-free camping is offered in all sections of Huron Campground.

MacGregor Point also offers two styles of roofed accommodations: soft sided shelters (yurts) and rustic cabins. A yurt is a semi-permanent vinyl-covered structure that is 20 feet in diameter, mounted on a wooden deck about two feet off the ground. Rustic cabins have a small deck and sunroom. Both roofed accommodation styles have heat and are available for camping year-round. Reservations are recommended. Pets are only permitted in cabin 55 and a pet deposit is required at time of your reservation.

Reservations can be made online or through our call centre by calling 1-888-668-7275.

Electric Sites

The private electrical sites may mean that you need to bring an extra extension cord to reach the electrical outlet. Please check the outlet distance before making your reservation. Electrical cord rentals are not available.

Non-Electrical Sites

These sites do not have access to any electrical services.

Barrier-Free Campsites

Campsite 1 in Algonquin Campground – Ash Woods and campsite 91 in Algonquin Campground – Birch Boulevard are designed to be used by persons with disabilities. The picnic table provides space for a wheelchair or mobility device. The fire pit is raised to allow easier access.

Group Camping

There are two group camping sites in Juniper Woods: sites 501 and 502. Each group site accommodates 9-36 people, and each has water taps and outhouses. Site 501 has trailer access for up to six trailers at a maximum of 18 feet (5.5 meters) each. Site 502 is a walk-in only site and is for tents only. Parking for 502 is within 50 feet (15.2 meters) of the site entrance. Both sites do not have access to any electrical services.

Reservations can be made online or through our call centre by calling 1-888-668-7275.

Radio-Free Camping

All campsites in Huron Campground are radio and generator free. Any speakers, radios, music and noise amplifying devices are not permitted to be used at any time. Generators are not permitted to be used at any time.

Winter Seasonal Camping

MacGregor Point offers the opportunity to camp seasonally in the winter, November 1st to March 31st. Reservations for winter seasonal camping are open from April 1st to September 30th. Payment for the entirety of the winter season is required at the time of your reservation.

These seasonal sites are in Algonquin Campground, in the Ash Woods and Birch Boulevard sections. Each of these sites has access to electricity. Water, flush toilets, showers and laundry facilities are available in the comfort stations which remain open all winter.

One vehicle is included with the cost of winter seasonal camping. One seasonal additional vehicle permit can be purchased at the park.

Wastewater dumping facilities in the trailer filling/dumping station remain open during the winter. Water in the filling/dumping station will be unavailable. All outdoor water taps will be unavailable.

Roadways are cleared after storm events and large snow accumulations. Park staff will clear the entrance to campsites but will not remove snow if any electrical cords are unmarked or covered in snow. Please be patient as snow removal can take time. For snow removal requests outside of major snow events, permit holders are required to call the gatehouse at least 24 hours prior.

During major snowstorms and weather events, power outages are common, and power restoration can be delayed. Please prepare for adverse weather and pack accordingly. Check local weather stations often during your stay to remain up to date on changing conditions.
