Park Notice
The Minnesing Trail and parking area will be closed to the public from November 14, 2023 to mid-2025. The area is closed for the construction of a new sanitation station (trailer dump and fill station). The Minnesing Trail will not be accessible until construction is complete, including from the Canisbay Campground access.
The Minnesing Trail is used for mountain biking and backcountry skiing and camping. The trail will not be available for biking, skiing, snowshoeing, or any winter activities including winter camping until construction is complete.

Shall Lake Access Point Notice – RESURFACING OF MAJOR LAKE ROAD BRIDGE OVER MADAWASKA RIVER (May 5th – May 9th):
Please be advised that the Township of South Algonquin, Ontario Parks and AFA will be resurfacing the Major Lake Road Bridge over Madawaska River the week of Monday May 5th – Friday May 9th. This work will include removal of existing asphalt & re-planking the existing deck surface. To facilitate asphalt removals on the bridge deck, a temporary road closure will be required on Major Lake Road Bridge over Madawaska River on May 5th and potentially May 6th depending on how work progresses. Following asphalt removals, re-planking of the existing bridge deck will occur from May 6th – May 9th. During this re-planking work, the bridge will be open to local traffic but expect delays. Please note that the bridge will be open during all stages of work for emergency vehicles.

Boil Water
Location: Mew Lake Campground, Tea Lake Campground - A boil water advisory is in effect. Please bring water to a rolling boil for at least 1 full minute before using for drinking, food preparation and infant formula, and brushing teeth.
