The existing cabin was moved to Rain Lake in Algonquin from Cache Lake, where it was a private leased cottage in the late 1970s. It was used as an Interior access point office until 1995. This waterfront log cabin is located at the end of the public access road at Rain Lake. It features a propane fridge, stove, lights and heat.

Amenities:

This cabin has a propane fridge, stove, lights and heat (propane provided). Composting toilets are shared with other campers when sites are occupied. There is a beach and boat launch area. Cabins are equipped with fire extinguishers, wash basin, metal pail, shovel, broom, dust pan, bunks (vinyl covered mattresses), table and chairs.

Please note there is no running water, indoor bathrooms or electricity and no cell phone reception.

Check in Process:

Must stop in at the Magnetawan Access Point Office in Kearney to pick up the cabin key and learn the proper operations of the propane facilities.

What to Bring:

Sleeping bags, air mattresses, pots and pans, utensils, flashlight, lantern, matches, food, drinking water.

Restrictions:

There is a 2-night minimum stay and a 3-night minimum stay on long weekends.

Domestic animals (pets) are not permitted in the facility or on site. Smoking is prohibited in all facilities. Tents are not permitted to be set up outside of the cabin.
