Many visitors are familiar with mosquitoes and ticks, but few realize that there are many other parasites that can be found in the park. Join a Park Naturalist at the Park Store to learn about the fascinating world of parasites, including ticks, worms, mites, and microscopic organisms!

Join a Park Naturalist on the Riverside Trail to answer your most burning questions about the least- appreciated member of Pinery’s cleaning staff: the humble Turkey Vulture! This program will be held at the second lookout on the Riverside Trail (500m starting from either direction).

Did you know that the dragonflies we see darting around actually spend most of their lives underwater? Hike the Riverside Trail and find a Park Naturalist to learn about dragonflies throughout all stages of their lives. Turn left at the fork for easy access.

Feeling artistically inspired by your visit to Pinery? Regardless of skill level, you’re welcome to join a Park Naturalist at the Chalet to dabble in creating a landscape painting inspired by Pinery’s beautiful scenery. Watercolour paints and supplies are provided. Please note: this program is intended for adults.

We are in the peak of Monarch Butterfly Migration! Meet in the Visitor Centre to learn about the journey that these butterflies embark on to Mexico and participate in tagging Monarchs on the Cedar Trail. Nets will be provided.
