Join Pinery’s Turtle Technicians to learn about the efforts and research happening in the park to help protect these Species-at-Risk. We need everyone’s help to ensure Pinery stays a safe haven for these 5 special reptiles. Located at the Outdoor Theatre.

Feeling creative? Doodle along with us and let your colours fly at the 2026 Turtle Week Art Showcase! Make your own turtle themed art at the Creation Station every day of turtle week from 10am-12pm at the Visitor Centre gazebo, and submit it to the Visitor Centre front desk to have it featured in our showcase. Visitors are also welcomed to submit art that they have created on their own time. Submissions close at 12pm on August 7th in time for our showcase 1-3pm.

Pedal the Savanna Bike Trail with Park Naturalists and learn about Pinery's Oak Savanna and some of its inhabitants. Rent one of our bikes or bring your own. The bike hike will be leaving at 10:00 AM from the rentals building. If you are renting a bike, please allow time to stand in line.

Join us at the Visitor Centre to wish Boxy, the beloved Box Turtle, a happy 80th birthday! At Boxy’s Birthday Bash we will not only share the story of Boxy's long life, but we will also recognize the wins and celebrate the successes in turtle conservation in Ontario. Cake will be available for both humans and turtles to enjoy!

Find inspiration as you walk along the beach with a Park Naturalist to explore the landscape, then merge art and science by painting as the sun sets over the lake. Supplies are limited and may need to be shared among participants. This program is intended for adults, although all are welcome. Meet at P9 picnic pavilion.
