We know that spending time in nature is good for us. Sometimes we just need a little push to get outside and feel the effects!
That’s why on July 17, Ontario Parks is offering free day use at all operating provincial parks in support of the Healthy Parks Healthy People global movement. We invite you to join us across the province for a range of nature connection activities. Pick up your Bingo Cards on the back deck of the Park Store and take pictures of yourself doing different park activities. Complete 5 in a row (horizontal, diagonal, or vertical). The first 3 finishers will get a prize!

Sand castle competition! Think you've got what it takes to build the ultimate sandcastle? Come show us what you've got at our Main Beach! Limited buckets and tools will be available for use but feel free to bring your own supplies. The top 3 sandcastles will win a prize!

Research shows that gratitude is deeply connected to happiness. Take a moment to pause, engage your senses, and reflect on the wonders of nature you're grateful for. Record and celebrate your reflections in the nature journal provided. All ages are welcome, though children will need support from an adult.

Gather around the campfire and enjoy a classic outdoor treat! Stop by to roast marshmallows, connect with fellow park visitors, and chat with our Staff about campfire safety and etiquette. Learn how we can all help keep our parks safe while enjoying the outdoors responsibly. Roasting sticks and marshmallows will be provided, though you are welcome to bring your own. All ages are welcome, though children must be accompanied by an adult.

Every tree has its own story to tell. To "hear" it, all you need to do is pay attention. Take a moment to pause and appreciate their presence, their gifts, and the feelings they inspire. Record and celebrate your discoveries in the nature journal provided. All ages welcome.

Date: July 19, 2026 Time: 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM

Nature is teeming with incredible colours. Take a moment out of your day to pause, engage your senses, and explore the natural palette that surrounds you. Use the watercolour paints provided to complete your own colour study. All ages welcome. No watercolour experience necessary.
