Park Notice
Due to nearby forest fire activity, Quetico Provincial Park has extended the closure of the Dawson Trail Campground, including campsites, roofed accommodations, and all day-use areas to August 14, 2026.
Quetico’s backcountry and all backcountry entry stations also remain closed. The current proposed backcountry reopening date is August 21st.
Public safety is our top priority. We will reopen the park as soon as it is safe to do so. We will be reassessing again on August 14, 2026 if further cancellations are required.
Affected reservation holders will be contacted and given a full refund or the opportunity to change their reservation (on availability) with no penalty.

Images inadvertently capturing suspected criminal, safety, or security violations, may be disclosed to the appropriate law enforcement agency. Any remaining records that contain the image of an identifiable individual will be deleted or altered to make the individuals unidentifiable.
