Did you know that there’s life after death in the forest? Many creatures, big and small, depend on dead trees for habitat and food. Join a Park Naturalist at the Visitor Centre to find out which of Pinery’s creatures rely on dead wood, how they use it, and the evidence they leave behind. A game and outdoor activity following story time will show you how to be a forest detective! This program is intended for younger audiences, although all are welcome.

Come celebrate the season of fall; stroll among the changing leaves, and learn about how plants, animals, and humans respond and adapt to the shifting of seasons. Participants will be invited to complete a small activity that will be displayed in the Visitor Centre for the remainder of the season! This is not a designated accessible trail, please be ready for hills and stairs. Location: Sassafras trail.

Invasive species have been spotted at Pinery and need to be identified to help the park's threatened ecosystems and the wildlife that lives within. Join the program at the Park Store to learn about the history of the invasives, how to identify invasive species, what the park is doing to stop them, and what you can do to help. Location: Park Store.
