Beaches can be an accessibility challenge for park visitors using walkers or wheelchairs. Because of the soft sand, wheels and legs of walkers can sink in, making them tough to maneuver.
As a part of our commitment to making parks as accessible as possible, more parks are offering beach accessibility measures to help visitors explore our shorelines.

Welcome to White Lake!
Our park is a hidden gem located along Highway 17 in the heart of northwestern Ontario. We’re about 60 km east of the Township of Marathon, and 35 km west of the Township of White River (approximately a four-hour drive to either Sault Ste. Marie or Thunder Bay).

So who’s this guy “Marten” anyway?
Often called the southern gateway to Temagami, Marten River Provincial Park straddles the Marten River, which is part of an ancient network of waterways that stitch the landscape together.
And Marten River isn’t named for a fellow named Martin…its named for the Pine Marten (also called American Marten).
